The elegant building housing what is now the Loopy Shrew bar, restaurant and 12-room boutique hotel has been home to a range of hospitality ventures over many years. However, time had taken its toll upon the premises and radical upgrading, repair and alteration was needed in order to bring them up to a top-quality standard.

Owner Danielle DiTella had some very specific ideas on how she wanted the finished venue to look and sought our advice as to how this could be achieved. Between us we concluded that the best plan was to start again, and we therefore removed the entire internal structure and took it down to basics.

From this virtually blank canvas, within six weeks we had rebuilt the bar, fully restored the beautiful old floorboards, redesigned and redecorated throughout and fully realised our client’s wishes. As with all the work we undertake, we paid very close attention to the compliance standards demanded by Building Control Officers to ensure that the end result is not only safe and secure, but functional and beautiful, too.
