PROJECT TITLE
Darwin’s Town House is a Grade II* listed building in Shrewsbury town centre and which we have recently completely refurbished to create a beautiful 24-room boutique hotel. As this is a property of historical significance, the project called for an expert and sensitive approach.
The visual appeal of the finished result, both interior and exterior, was of as equal consideration as the integrity of the infrastructure. For that reason, in close collaboration with our client, Building Control Officers and English Heritage, we formulated a design scheme which brought the C18th former private home sympathetically up to C21st standards, preserving and restoring original features whilst incorporating all current quality and safety requirements.
Our client was naturally keen to have the works completed without unnecessary delay in order to be able to open the hotel for business. Working scrupulously within a given budget and to the agreed time frame, our staff and trusted sub-contractors have transformed this important building from a tired and outdated one back to its former glory.
With all works completed to the highest contemporary standards, Darwin’s Town House now reflects the very best of both ancient and modern construction quality.
